The Combination Bridle includes the following accessories:

Bit To Bitless Transitional Connectors

Cross Under Straps

You can also purchase the Corbin Side Pull Bridle and then add the abovementioned accessories separately.

The Corbin Combination Bridle is a revolutionary all-in-one bridle that allows riders to achieve the following four distinct styles:

 1. Side Pull Bitless Action

The Side Pull Bridle is the standard Corbin bridle which can be used to accommodate all four functions.

The side pull bridle mimics the aids riders are accustomed to in a standard bitted bridle. The bridle works using the same principles as a bitted bridle with the difference being that the aids are transferred to the nose instead of the mouth. If the rider puts contact on the left rein , then the horse feels the aid on the left side of its nose and visa versa. If the riders closes both hands, then the horse with feel the contact on the bridge of the nose.

2. Cross Under Bitless Action

You will need to own the Corbin Side Pull Bridle in order to use the Cross Under Straps. The straps cross under the jaw of the horse giving a stronger “Whoa” aid. Some riders feel it is useful to alternate from the side pull to the cross under during there training sessions. Each style gives a different action and some riding movements may be conveyed better in one style more than the other where perhaps one style suits dressage and another may suit jumping or outrides. It  is all down to the individual horse and rider.

3. Bit To Bitless Transition

If you are new to trying bitless or have been struggling to go bitless, then this style can make the transition easy. How it works is that the aids given through the bit will at the same time be given to the noseband, thus teaching the new bitless aids to your horse. As your horse gets more acquainted to the noseband side pull aids, you can vary how much bit to nose contact you have. At your own pace you can reduce the bit contact and increase the noseband side pull contact till you’ve completely weaned your horse off the bit. For horses with sensitive mouths or have riders with unsteady hands (i.e. riding school horses and beginner jumping lessons) horses soon feel more secure in taking a relaxed, trusting contact than they would have in a regular bitted bridle.

4. Regular Bitted Action

Although this bridle was not designed to be used primarily as a regular bitted bridle, in the event that you need to use this style, you can adjust the bridle so that your reins simply attach to the bit. The noseband will need to be adjusted to the standard cavesson height and the Beta Biothane® straps raised so that they are lying against the D-Ring and do not move whilst riding. Lastly, the reins are attached to the bit.
